Hey Everyone!
My name is Lexy Donath and I am a senior at Iowa State University majoring in Agricultural Studies. I will be graduating in the spring and then spending the remainder of the time preparing for this trip! I am super excited to go into this trip with open hands to whatever the Lord has for me.
Here are ten fun facts about me so that you can get to know me better!
1. I was born in Branson, MO but moved to Muscatine, IA right before I started kindergarten.2. I am the oldest of three brothers and their names are Tyler, Eli, and Gabe.
3. I’ve been bungee jumping off one of the highest bungee bridges in the world (in South Africa)!! I absolutely love trying new things and going on adventures (a true enneagram type 7 if you ever did meet one lol)
4. My favorite Bible passage is John 15! “I am the vine; you are the branches…”. This passage is one that the Lord brings me back to from time to time, especially during some pivotal moments in my faith! I actually have a tattoo of a vine wrapping around my arm that was not originally because of this passage but has since been a reminder of my favorite passage and the journey the Lord is walking me through.
5. One of my pet peeves is when people put whipped cream on top of iced lattes; it just doesn’t belong.
6. I do love a good iced latte– just not with whipped cream on top lol. I will also drink just about any other kind of coffee. I have recently been making my own coffee at home in attempt to save money for the trip. In South Africa we drank a lot of instant coffee (side note: Greta if you’re reading this from South Africa I still will never understand how you got instant coffee to taste SO good). So I truly will drink any kind of coffee… as long as it’s not an iced latte/coffee with whipped cream on it 🙂
7. My first job was at a local flower shop in Muscatine– If you ever buy me flowers I will love you forever.
8. I am a huge plant lover!! But I’m not always the best at keeping them alive 🙁
9. When I was younger my parents were constantly taking us to various state parks to go hiking and my brothers and I would always complain about how boring it was and now hiking is easily one of my favorite things to do.
10. I currently have two jobs while also being a full time student! I work at Hy-Vee (a grocery store for those of you who don’t have a Hy-Vee near you) in customer service and then I work at a restaurant making salads and deli sandwiches!
I am super excited to go on The World Race and learn and grow along the way. My two month trip to South Africa with AIM was truly life changing so I can’t wait to see how God works in me and through me in preparation for the trip and then in the 11 months of the trip! Can’t wait to keep y’all updated! <3
