Right Where I’m Supposed to be

Hi friends!!!

Our first month of ministry is officially done!! This first month has been a series of highs and lows. One theme that has remained constant throughout this entire journey is that we need to have open hands as to God’s plan for us. I’ll have to thank my good friend Tina Sakers for that phrase. With that being said, there has been another change in our plans. Due to Covid we will be staying in Jeffreys Bay for the month of July as well!! We know that this was God’s plan for us even though we were made aware of this only a couple days ago.

Throughout my Journey in specific I feel like God has really been telling me to trust what he has for me and put my own desires aside. When you seek after Him your wants and desires will align with the plan that God has for you. The news that we would not be traveling to eSwatini was not a complete shock to me. However that doesn’t mean that I didn’t feel a bit disappointed. The ministry that we were supposed to be potentially working with in eSwatini was going to be working with agriculture. So naturally, I was very excited because agricultural missions is something that God has been laying on my heart for a while now. So when we found out we would be staying in Jeffreys Bay, I was confused with God. I thought that God was really going to reveal if agricultural missions was something that I should pursue.

I sat and wrestled with it for the next couple of days and spent time in prayer and in the word and then we were told about the next ministry in Jbay that we would be moving to. The ministry that we will be working with starting tomorrow is called “one village“. And I bet you could guess… We will be working with Agriculture. One village is an organization that grows food and supplies local food pantry’s in the townships here. This is something that I am so passionate about. The lord continues to show me that I have been placed here for a reason.

Each moment spent here has been such a blessing. It’s crazy to see how many different plans I had before deciding on Africa. God brought me here so intentionally even though I didn’t know it at the time. Closing out our time With LXP was definitely emotional but I am so excited to see their ministry grow. What they are doing is truly amazing and they are making such an impact in the lives of these kids. It’ll be a nice change in pace to switch to working with one village. I am confident that no matter what God has in store for the next month, I will be right where I am supposed to be.
